Join us for our 5th Annual Laulima Symposium that features presentations and workshops across topics in science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine (STEMM) that have direct relevance to our communities. The theme of this yearʻs Laulima Symposium is “Mālama honua, mālama kaiāulu, mālama kānaka: Caring for earth, community, people in the 21st century”. This exciting FREE event brings together brilliant minds to collaborate, share, and pitch transformative ideas. This symposium is open to EVERYONE and offers a unique opportunity to meet amazing STEMM leaders in Hawaii while learning about new, innovative solutions in the community.

Proposal Competition Pitch Award Session: Top students from the Honua Scholars proposal competition will be invited to present their projects to a panel of judges to compete for prizes and awards!
Networking Opportunities: Connect with professionals, mentors, students, and peers who are passionate about making a positive impact on Hawaii’s future.
Interactive Activities: Learn from hands-on demonstrations, activities, and more from a variety of community collaborators!

2:30 PM - Closing & Awards - Find out who won our proposal competition, pitch competition, and had the best oral presentations at today's event!

Present Your Research – Are you an undergraduate, graduate student, researcher, industry professional, or professor interested in presenting at the Laulima Symposium? We welcome both 3-minute and 12-minute talks. Submit your abstract by Nov 1, 2026, 11:59 PM HST.
Volunteer – Are you interested in day-of logistics? Are you a college graduate or a teacher who can help with judging for our proposal competition and/or pitch competition? We are seeking volunteers!
